What ages do you work with?

I work with children 3 and younger. If there are older children in the home, I will discuss with you how to include them in sessions if appropriate.

How should I prepare for a session?

Ideally, sessions should occur when the caregiver and child are able to focus on each other with as few distractions as possible. It is helpful to find a time when other children will not be home.

How many caregivers can participate in a session?

Multiple adult caregivers are welcome to participate in a session. I will work with you to determine which caregivers play an active role and which ones are observing or to take turns with different adults engaging with the child.

What can I expect during a session?

Each session will be tailored to your specific needs. Generally, sessions will include conversation about the challenges you want to address. I will also spend time observing interactions between caregiver(s) and the child. I may also engage directly with your child and ask you to observe. We will then discuss various ways to engage and guide your child so that interactions are more harmonious. At times, it can be helpful to video interactions and review them together.

Where do sessions take place?

Ideally, sessions are held in your home. There may be times when it is useful to meet somewhere else and I will work with you to determine the best location. I do not have an office based location.

Can siblings or other children participate during a session?

During the initial session(s) it is best to focus on one child at a time. There may be times when it would be helpful to include other children and I will work with you to determine how to go about that.

How long does a session last?

Sessions are 90 minutes. I have learned from experience that an hour is rarely sufficient.

Do you take insurance?

No, all services are private pay. Payment is expected at the time of service unless you have purchased a multi session package in advance.

What forms of payment are accepted?

Payment can be made online using a credit or debit card. Personal checks and cash are also welcome. Please note that if you pay online using a credit card, a small processing fee will be added.

Do you charge for travel?

There is no travel fee for locations within Saint Augustine. A travel fee of .70 per mile will be charged for locations beyond Saint Augustine, FL.

Is my information confidential?

Absolutely! All information you share with me will be held in confidence and nothing will be shared without your explicit permission.
